Bagan King is a thoughtfully designed hotel with plenty of character located in Mandalay’s city centre (on the corner of 28th and 73rd street, or 2 blocks away from the southern palace wall). Designed in the style of an old Bagan temple – red brick interior and exterior – it’s surprisingly a big breath of fresh air in a city that has relatively little to offer those seeking a boutique experience.
Each of the 29 rooms are similar in style – small, but very comfortable. All boast wooden and bronze furnishings, most of which are hand-made and crafted locally by Mandalay artists.
Overall, this is a great value property that comes with plenty of character and excellent service. Tour Mandalay would strongly recommend.
